Shrewsbury, Ma. – There’s a link between wasted food and hunger. Local students are not only taking notice but also taking action.
At an India Society of Worcester-sponsored Harvest Festival held at Oak Middle School in February, students applied what they learned from their own research and a recent visit to Worcester County Food Bank (WCFB). Their booth at the festival engaged community members in an important conversation about wasted food. In the process, the students collected donations for WCFB.
Read a poster they designed for the festival: “Wasting food wastes everything: Fuel, water, labor, money, love.” We couldn’t agree more.
