For the 26th consecutive year, Worcester County-based 96.1 SRS hosted a multi-day food and fund drive in support of Worcester County Food Bank (WCFB), raising over $65,000 and collecting 7,000+ pounds of food.
“It’s powerful, really,” said WCFB’s Director of Communications & Development, Joni Kusminsky. “Folks are talking publicly, right on the radio, about hunger and opportunities to help. The drive draws support from so many different segments of our community, too…from kids donating their allowance money, to people with lived experience of hunger finding themselves in a place where they can give back, to families deciding to do some extra shopping for neighbors in need, to area businesses getting behind WCFB’s vision for a hunger-free community. It shows there’s a way for each of us to be involved in taking action to end hunger.”
