“Suzanne and Greg in the Morning.” Suzanne and Greg broadcast live from Market 32, Pullman Street, Worcester, during the 96.1 Feed Worcester County Food Drive.

For the 26th consecutive year, Worcester County-based 96.1 SRS hosted a multi-day food and fund drive in support of Worcester County Food Bank (WCFB), raising over $65,000 and collecting 7,000+ pounds of food.

“It’s powerful, really,” said WCFB’s Director of Communications & Development, Joni Kusminsky. “Folks are talking publicly, right on the radio, about hunger and opportunities to help. The drive draws support from so many different segments of our community, too…from kids donating their allowance money, to people with lived experience of hunger finding themselves in a place where they can give back, to families deciding to do some extra shopping for neighbors in need, to area businesses getting behind WCFB’s vision for a hunger-free community. It shows there’s a way for each of us to be involved in taking action to end hunger.”

Sponsors of this year’s Food Drive included: Dunkin, Fallon Health, The Hanover Insurance Group, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, UniBank, Herb Chambers Ford of Westborough, and Onsite Engineering.
