WCFB Newsletter

Do you have an urge for news? Do you like to keep current with the most recent developments in the Central Massachusetts community? Do you thirst for information about the Worcester County Food Bank and its services?

Our monthly newsletter should satisfy your appetite.

At the close of each month the Worcester County Food Bank's "Food for Thought" on-line newsletter will feature a variety of short stories and bulletins related to its mission, programs and the issue of hunger-relief in Central Massachusetts.

Here's a quick sample of what you might find:

The Walk for Change…Each November, WAAF radio personality Greg Hill walks 40 miles from downtown Worcester to downtown Boston collecting donations on behalf of the Worcester County Food Bank and Greater Boston Food Bank. Neither rain, sleet, snow, traffic jam or foot blisters can stop our brave friend in his journey to help hungry people in our community. What motivates and inspires our friend to continue his unique pilgrimage? Check OCTOBER's "FOOD for THOUGHT."

Food Rescue. That's what the Food Bank does with prepared and perishable foods that appear in your supermarket's "prepared meals" section, or on the menu of your local take-out restaurant. Instead of tossing edible food in the dumpster, the Food Bank's refrigerated truck picks food up in the A.M. and by late morning and early P.M. the food is delivered to local shelters and soup kitchens for consumption by needy people.

The cost for getting the Food Bank's on-line newsletter? FREE, FREE, FREE!
